Hot and cold aisels are very important in data centers. As you know, there are many servers and electronic components in the server rooms, all of them generate a lot of heat during operation. To prevent damage to these equipment, cooling systems are needed to moderate the air in the server room.

Some data centers are designed in such a way that by using cold and hot aisels, they put the server racks together in such a way that the cold air is received from the front and the hot air caused by the activity of the servers is transferred from the back.

In this design, an aisle is placed right in front of the server racks, which is called the cold aisle, and an aisle is placed behind the racks, which is called the hot aisle.

In order to prevent mixing of hot and cold air in the data center, these two aisels are separated using a physical enclosure. Also, an automatic door is placed at the entrance of the cold aisel for personnel to enter.

The advantage of using this design in the data center is that it will save more energy than traditional methods, and on the other hand, it helps to reduce the costs of setting up ventilation systems.

Also, the use of hot and cold aisels increases the efficiency of the cooling system up to 20% and increases the thermal density of the racks. The hot and cold aisel makes the cool airflow evenly on the top and bottom of the racks.
